This is an animated series which I wanted to work on for my self-initiated project during university. I illustrated the backgrounds for this animated series and aimed to create 3 different areas for the animated series which can come together in later episodes. I worked on 3 different locations labelled as the Wooded kingdom, the Plains kingdom and the Jungle Kingdom.
This project was heavily inspired by adventure time, creating different kingdoms and trying to make them fantastical. This project was a breakthrough for my illustration practise and a start to how I create my illustrations today. I illustrate my drawings through line art first, made up of water-resistant inks. I then fill the different shapes with base-coloured inks. and finish with shading the shapes in blue and lighting in yellow. I digitally manipulate my illustrations with lights, flares and changing tone levels.
